4th Grade Language Arts 

 

I am in the process of establishing a center based learning routine. This takes time. Students have to practice procedures such as learing procedures for transitions, following written instructions, and staying on task. Each group will be working on a different skill. There are five groups with four students in each group. One to two groups are teacher led.

*Vocabulary Work

*Leveled reader lessons

*Teacher lead reading group

*Writing

 

Students will have a weekly vocabulary quiz and reading assessment. The weekly reading assessment will focus on the skills covered that week. The vocabulary quiz will be a quiz grade, but the weekly assessment will be a classwork grade. Center work will also be classwork grades. Each quarter will have a take home project.

Please feel free to email questions and/or concerns anytime. I try to make it a habit of not checking email after 5. I have two kids who are both involved in sports. I will always have a response back to you within 24 hours. Let me know if you are interested in helping out in or out of the classroom.
